Birthday and Celebration Adventures

Well, just now thinking about posting from our adventures for my birthday and celebrating our time frame being up.

First of all, it started of Thursday with me getting a massage which is ALWAYS a GREAT relaxer. For those that live near Columbia, I HIGHLY reccomend Fox and Co and getting Napolean as your massage therapist.

Anywho, after I got home from that, we left for Alabama for the night. Once we got into Alabama, we checked into our motel. At the motel, they have a restraunt called 360. It is kinda like the space needle in Gatlinburg but in the top is the restraunt which is revolving. We thought we would give it a try even though we had seen their prices were really expensive. We were really glad we did because they were having a special that night on steaks and they were super yummy. I must say though, we definately felt underdressed. It is a fancy place and they are ALL ABOUT presentation with the way food looks and everything.

Anywho, this picture is from the top of the restraunt looking down to our motel and the river behind it. Our room was facing the river with a balcony. We got a GREAT deal with Trent being a cop. I still can't believe it was an $88 discount just for him being a cop.
Friday morning, we got up and headed to Robert Trent Jones golf course. I actually played with Trent and LOVED it. I just wish I could get golf lessons so I could really have fun and be decent. I have actually went back with him once at home since going there. For the most part, I can make it to the green ok BUT I SUCK at putting. Who would have thunk it. LOL. You would think that would be the easiest part. Anywho, this next picture is from the golf course and I just loved it. However, I love waterfalls.

Can't really tell too well from this picture but this was on the balcony of our motel room but you can't see the river too well from the view we are facing.

We had a WONDERFUL quick get away and got to talk alot about our future. We can't wait to see what the near future holds for us and look forward to the day we can become parents.

Hope everyone else has been doing well.

Life is getting more exciting!

Well, life as we know it is just a speeding on by...which is a great thing for now. As for anyone who knows in what route we are taking to get pregnant, you probably know that we had a 3 month wait time frame before we could get started on the procedures part. As of July 22nd (MY BIRTHDAY), our 3 months is up. Now, usually I say birthdays are just another day. Nothing significant about them however this year, I say it is the BEST birthday I have had to date just for the simple fact we are SO much closer to trying for our little bundle of joy. After July 22nd (when our 3 months is up) we will still have a little bit of a wait just while things get processed however, I can't believe we have already came so far. I just pray that the rest of our journey goes as smoothly as the past 7 months have. The past 7 months have been wonderful which we have very much so needed after the last 6 months of 2010. 2011 has already prooved to be much MUCH better than 2010 and hopefully we can go out of 2011 with a bang. lol

Since we have SO MUCH to celebrate this month, next week (during the time that our 3 months is up) we are planning a couples massage and going out of town to Florence and going golfing at Robert Trent Jones. I called today about the massage and they do couples massages in the swimming pool room of they spa but they say it gets so hot in there in the summer, they may not do couples massages this summer so I am thinking if we don't do the massages, we will spend an extra night out of town and stay one night in Huntsville and play at that Robert Trent Jones course and then head to Florence and stay there and play at that course also.

Lets just say, it pays to be the po po or be married to the po po!!! We all know they don't get paid crap but atleast in some ways, they get some extra added benefits of being a cop. I called tonight and booked our motel room for Florence and originally it was $165 however since Trent is a cop, we get a police discount down to only $77. yowzers... THATS AWESOME. I have had some motels tell me before a $10 or $15 discount but never a $88 discount. Just makes our stay that much more exciting.

Haha oh yeah, and for my birthday, I already got a police scanner. I LOVE to hear what all is going on and I get so much entertainment out of Trents stories so I can't wait to be able to play with my new toy and be nosey, lol.

Alright, I guess that is all that is going on in the lovely world of the Haddock's for now. Hope everyone else is doing great.

Kidney Stones

On Thursday, Trent's back was bothering him before going to bed however he went to bed anyways and woke up a couple hours later actually in pain. Well low and behold, he passed a Kidney stone that afternoon.

Friday came around and Trent did not have any pain however passed yet another Kidney stone. The one on Thursday was larger so I assume the smaller one was passing through at the same time just did not come out at the same time.

Several months back, we were told that he had 3 stones in one kidney and either 2 or 3 stones in the other kidney (it has been a while so don't remember if there was 5 or 6 total). 2 of them being about 3mm and the rest being about 5 or 6mm. Well, by my measurements, the one he passed on Thursday was about 7mm and the one on Friday was about 4mm.

Before when Trent has had kidney stones, he has had to have procedures to bust them up and remove them so we have never seen them whole before therefore, we are a little amused with them.

IF PICTURES OF KIDNEY STONES WILL DISGUST YOU DON'T LOOK ANY FURTHER.

Here are the 2 stones. The first one being Fridays measuring about 4mm and the second one being Thursdays measuring about 7mm (maybe even a little over?).

The smaller one at 4mm.

Yowzers!!! The larger one at 7mm.

YOWZERS AGAIN!!! Take a look at the 7mm one up close. No wonder the poor boy is in so much pain when he passes these things. Look at the spikeys on this thing.

Other than my poor Trentie passing Kidney stones, we have been doing great. Living life to the fullest and enjoying ourselves and time off together when we get it.

Hope everyone else has been well also.

Just an update.

Well, it has been FOREVER since we have really updated everyone so I figured I would give a quick update to let everyone know how we are doing.

Everyday life is great. Not much going on with us. I just got back from St Louis with my mom, sister, and Colty and we had a GREAT trip and got to do lots of fun things. Me and Trent on the other hand are getting ready to go to the Bahamas on a cruise and WE CAN NOT WAIT. We very much so need a break and a get away. While we are on our cruise, we will have been trying to have a baby for 2 years. WOW, that is a long time. Even though it is such a long time, I do feel blessed because it does seem the time has went by quickly. I also feel very blessed that not only has God closed doors for us but he has opened doors and great opportunities for us to allow us to reach our final goal of having a little bundle of joy.

As far as our Infertility Journey is concerned, things are going great and moving right along. I would say at this point, we are almost half way into the process of which we have decided to take. I am guessing we are about 6-9 months out from starting procedures. It really seems like lately everything has been working out great and falling right into place. Back in March, we definately hit a few stumbling blocks which then turned to hitting about rock bottom and causing the most emotions we have had in several months but we quickly picked ourselves up and made the best out of the situation. I am still doing our scrapbook and for the month of March used this saying: One of the secrets of life is making stepping stones out of stumbling blocks. I really liked this saying because as I said, we really struggled a couple of days in March however turned it around and made stepping stones out of it. We have to keep ourselves up and moving in the right direction.

My neighbor says the other day that she was watching one of the baby shows and it was on a couple who had infertility and they done IUI (which is what we are doing) and got pregnant THE VERY FIRST TIME (boy I can only PRAY TO GOD that happens for us) BUT with QUADRUPLETS. Oh holy cow!!! Yes, I pray God blesses us enough and we are lucky enough for it to happen the first time but no quadruplets please. However, we will be very thankful and grateful for what ever God wants to bless us with even if that means we will be the octo parents (eek!!! I pray to God it ain't that bad.)

Other than that, not a whole heck of a lot has been going on.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Trent = 1, Snake = 0

Trent went golfing this morning while I slept for a little bit since I had to work last night. When he got home from golfing, I was still asleep in the bed. He comes straight into the room and grabs the gun and I hear it click. I then jump up and the following story happens.....

Ashlie: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!!"

Trent: "WE GOT A SNAKE BESIDE THE GARAGE!!! His head was perked up and following me and his tongue was sticking out"

Ashlie: Jumped up and said "Wait, I might scream like a little girl but I want to see it."

We then get outside and it is hiding under a concrete rain run off thing so we propped up the concrete piece with a shovel. Now, this was RIGHT AGAINST the house. Trent got ready to shoot it and the following conversation quickly took place.

Ashlie: "Wait, is it going to hit the house or hit something, bounce off and come back and hit you?"

Trent: "I DON'T KNOW!" (which he later tells me he responded with this just to get a reaction out of me. He knew it wouldn't come back and hit him)
***He bends down and gets ready to shoot it while....

Ashlie: I am SCREAMING VERY LOUDLY "NO!! WAIT!! TRENT!! DON'T DO IT!!"

Gun: BOOM!!!

Now the funny part of this story is my neighbor had her windows up so if they heard all of this taking place, they probably thought Trent had just shot and killed me.

So,... here is the snake. As you can see, Trent shot it right at it's head. It WOULD NOT die. It's neck had to be broke cause of where Trent shot it. It's body would move all over but not so much with it's head. So, Trent proceeded with trying to chop its head off with the shovel.

Nope, that darn snake would just not give up so Trent then takes the shovel, carries it to the middle of the yard and drops him.

***WARNING: THE VERY NEXT PICTURE UNDER THIS IS OK TO LOOK AT BUT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THE SNAKE PRETTY MUCH DECAPITATED, DON'T LOOK AT THE ONE UNDER IT!!!

PUTS THE GUN DIRECTLY ON THE SNAKES HEAD AND BOOM!!! Which resulted in the next picture which is an almost decapitated snake!!!

TRENT = 1, SNAKE = 0

Granny Simms says a black snake is a good snake to have around. It eats mice.

Me, Trent, and Mom say a dead snake is a good snake.

Wow, Having a heartfelt moment...

Who knew 2 years and 9 months after our Wedding that I would be reminded so much of our Wedding Vows. As I posted our silly picture last night, 1 specific verse in our Vows came to mind. It now brings tears to my eyes and gives me chills for the simple fact of how true they are.

They met as individuals and so remain but strengthen because they have also become one. They look forward to the future knowing that they can face whatever it may hold because of their unity. May their love forever shine as one as a beacon for others.

It amazes me because without our Unity, we would not be able to face what we are going through these days. And when I say this, I mean it from the very bottom of my heart. I truly pray that Our love does forever shine as a beacon for someone out there and give someone inspiration that Marriage truly is a wonderful thing and the biggest blessing in some peoples lives. I honestly feel that you can tell how crazy in love we are with one another and hope it shows to the whole world.

Ok, now that I have gotten all mushy with you all, I will go but not with out one last comment. Please (anyone and everyone) don't take for granted what you have. I know I am more blessed than I ever deserve. Thank You God for blessing me with one heck of an amazing marriage.
I am Blessed and we all are. Some people don't see their blessings but trust me if you dig deep, you will see that even if you don't think there is a positive in a situation, there is truly a blessing in disguise
