Snowy snowy freezing mess!

Well this snow has been lovely but DEFINITELY time for it to go.

So it all started with me watching the weather before heading to work Friday morning. It showed it would start a little around 12 but not too bad until a little later in the afternoon (1 or 2pm) for our area. I went to work with the intentions of leaving before I got stranded since I had never drove in it before. I looked outside and it wasn't doing anything. The next thing I know, I look outside at 10:30 and the roads are covered and traffic is barely moving. Sudden freak out set in. What normally takes me 30 minutes to drive from work to home took me about an hour and 5 minutes. I get home safe and sound and Trent is sleeping due to him having to work on Friday night. He has always said he loves snow cream so I made him a surprise for when he got up. I had some Vanilla and Chocolate Snow cream made. This was the first time I had ever made some and I didn't do bad at all. Even with my chocolate experiment. I even have some fresh snow in my freezer so I can make more when we run out.

Well Trent goes to work and slides all over the place trying to leave our house before he ever even got off of our road, almost hitting a mail box or two. By this time it was about 6 inches of snow with tons of sleet and freezing rain on top of the snow. He safely made it to work and got to work from the department and only had to go out in the mess once thankfully.

At about 8:30 our electricity went out due to ice making branches fall on power lines and then stayed out for about 14 hours. Talking about one boring freezing night just me and the Bully baby. We just dozed in the recliner all covered up with 5 candles lit for lighting. I told Trent on the way home from work to stop by WalMart and get a Kerosene Heater. No such luck. They CLAIMED (we will get to that later) they were out. By the time Trent got home from work, we went to bed wearing sweatpants, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie on our heads, and 4 blankets. We were actually pretty warm after bundeling up and cuddling like that. Man I wish we had a picture of that. House temperature was down in 50's brr way too cold. Anyways, it made me remember back to last year when we were in this same situation except it wasn't snow/ice storm it was our unit tore up on us. I insisted we find a Kerosene heater from somewhere. We went to a Cancer Benefit today and coming home we had to stop at WalMart to pick something up and low and behold what do I walk right past. Something they earlier claimed they did not have. Yep you got it right, the very last Kerosene Heater they had. It was actually pretty funny because me and one other person ran up on it at the same time and I GOT TO IT FIRST. Needless to say, I thought we were gonna have to fight over it. They just stood there and stared me down and I just went pushing it on down the aisle. Oh well at least I won it. lol.

Here are some pics. Trentie was firing it up for the first time.

Bullet absolutely did not know what to think about it. He sniffed of it and ran off to his chair.

After firing it up, about 5 minutes later, our fire alarm started going off. Trent said well at least we know that it works. Other than that, it was wonderful. Warmed us up real good. We didn't run it too long so that we could save the fuel for the just in case the power went out tonight to. We got the last heater and the last bottle of Kerosene so we have to use it sparingly until we can get some more. We sure do love love love it though and now have it just in case there are anymore heating surprises in the future cause God knows we did not expect the past 2 heating surprises.
Anyways, here are some pictures of the snow.
Here is our Home from the road. Some snow hit the camera as you can tell on the lens.

I know you cant tell but I am actually standing in the road and looking straight ahead is the road. This is why I freaked coming home from work and Trent about took out a few mailboxes going to work.

This is Saturday morning before going to bed. Icicles hanging off of our porch.

There was ice build up everywhere. This is the trees/bushes outside our kitchen window. There is big branches off of trees all over town and that is why we lost power. Thanks to them falling on power lines

This is the road off of our road. Solid nasty ice. As you can see straight ahead, all the tree limbs down.

Anyways, I reckon that is enough of our snow experience. I hope everyone else stayed in and stayed safe and warm with their power in great working fashion. lol.

Just Life

Well, for those of you that don't know, my Gramamaw has had problems with her back for several months now. Well several days ago she started having severe pain which sent her to the hospital in Murfreesboro. We knew she had about 4 compression fractures in her back however after that we found out she actually has compression fractures between every vertebrae in her back. Family and doctors had came to the agreement that she needed to be put in the nursing home for Rehab and rehab only. As soon as her back is better she is home bound.

I wanted to post this picture cause I love, love, love it. This is almost my favorite picture of the while night. I would say it is up in the first 3 of my fave. I love this woman dearly and miss her so much since living 2 hours away.

Anyways, I went to see her today and got a few pictures but I just thought this was cute as could be.

We went to eat afterwards and Colty was being moms little boy. Ho took the chips and salsa from Amber and Jack and said we can make do. He wanted them for him and mom only.

Just wanted to show a picture of my Bully baby. He is one B-E-A-U-TIFUL baby.

Here are some more pictures of the moon. This was Thursday when it was so cloudy and rainy so you can see the clouds moving over the moon.

Gramamaw just loved my moon pictures and thought it would be perfect to blow up to an 8x10 so I said by golly whatever the Gramamaw wants, the Gramamaw gets. So I blew up the below picture for her and will be taking it to her tomorrow. She will LOVE it. It turned out so perfect.
Mom thinks I need to take pictures of each phase of the moon and submit it into the fair. Saying that the 8 x 10 turned out so well, I just may do that.

Anyways, we in the Haddock house are doing Great. Me and Trent as of Wednesday had been together for 7 total years and we had gotten engaged 3 years ago. Wow it amazes me how time flies. We will be married for 2 years in May.

I reckon that is it. Hope everyone else is doing great as well.

Moon shot

AWESOME. I have been waiting for this night since I bought my camera.

Looking at reviews on this camera, people were posting pictures of the moon and I thought no way, that is awesome. Well, every since I have had the camera, the world has lost the moon and we have not seen it. Tonight Trent got the camera and went outside and I thought, yep the moon must be out and low and behold it was.

Here is a picture of the moon without being zoomed in.

Here is the moon zoomed in. If you look closely you can see the outline of the whole moon but not too good. I cant wait for a full moon to get a good picture. Anyways if you look at the bottom of the moon, you can actually see the craters in it.

Love, love, love my camera. Anyways this is the one other picture that I posted a couple of posts ago that I wanted to blog. Maybe I can get a full moon soon.

Weekend Fun

We had a wonderful day yesterday. Ricky, my father in law, got inducted into the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and then we went to the Ryman Auditorium to the Grand ol Opry. Unfortunately I uploaded pictures backwards so you get Grand ol Opry pictures before the induction pictures.

While at Grand ol Opry, my camera took fantastic pictures. This was my first outing with my new camera so I was pretty excited. I would say I still have a little to figure out but overall it was fantastic. Can't wait to use it during our cruise.

Trent told me I had to take plenty of pictures of his and my dad's girlfriend therefore you will see more pictures of Carrie Underwood than the others. Dad, these are just for you.

We did have pretty good seats but yet again, the Zoom on my camera amazes me.

Vince Gill was a surprise, we did not know he was going to be there.

Dierks Bentley

Little Jimmy Dickens. For this man to be 89 years old, wow he is a feisty little thing. lol. He was pretty funny.
I did take more pictures than this but did not want to overload the blog on too many pictures as I am good at doing.

Pictures after the Induction into the Hall of Fame

Here is the whole Haddock family minus Scott which was not able to make it from California since he was just here for Christmas.

Me and Trent.

Again, I got more pictures than this but didn't want to post too many.
We had a Wonderful weekend and hopes everyone else did too.

New Camera x 2

Here are some more pictures from my new camera with a few different modes being used. Macro, super macro, color options, indoor, and sunset.

My wedding bouquet

candle in memory of Maw Maw Rhinehart. Handkerchief and ring bearer pillow made from Moms wedding dress

A favor from reception (we made them), flowers thrown down the aisle, Trents boutonniere, and the thing that went in his pocket.

The camera will keep one color and make everything else black and white. My ring inside my bouquet. Again all lilac was done in Memory of Maw maw Rhinehart

Close up of my ring inside my bouquet

Bully, bully, such a rotten baby boy. But sure is a pretty little (ok huge) thing

Sunset by our tree line.

Bullet favorite thing to do. Chew on socks. He will go get socks out of the laundry basket and carry them everywhere.
I do have another picture I am wanting to take that I have seen people post on reviews. Not gonna say what it is until I get it but that will come at a later time when I am able to get it.

New Camera

I have been wanting a new camera for a while which is no shock for me. I get a new camera what seems every year or two because I just cant find one that I really like. My last one I just got in November of 2008 and already wanting a new one. I know I am crazy. Anyways. I found a camera that I liked, but it was bigger and bulkier than normal but EXCELLENT reviews from what I could see. I went to get it and the person helping me talked me out of it and said I would not need a camera that nice for what I was wanting and talked me into a Kodak EasyShare something or another. Horrible experience with it. To make a long story short, I could not get the CD that came with it to download on to my computer and I just did not think the pictures were that great. Ok, but not great, seemed to be about same quality as last camera (so why pay for a new one and more expensive at that). Anyways, I went back this morning and traded that camera in for the one I really wanted in the first place and within 2 minutes I was hooked. Now I hope it does not let me down but so far EXCELLENT. It is a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS with 20x Zoom and 12.1 Megapixels. Here are some pictures of how AWESOME the zoom is.

This picture is from the road looking towards my house. You cant see it but on the porch a sign is hanging on the right side.

Here, I am standing in the same spot on the road and now you can actually see the sign and be able to read it clearly.

Here I am sitting in my living room against the wall. If you look down the hallway all the way to the very back wall, you can see a picture but you can't make out anything about it.

Again, in the exact same spot as the previous picture, now you can see exactly what the picture is. It is the cross stitching that I made for Trent a couple of years ago. The lights was out in the living room (however light coming in from outside) but the lights was also out in the hallway and you could still make this out clear as day.

My biggest complaint about all other cameras is that you just cant get very good low light pictures and by the last 2 pictures above, I think I just might have found my miracle camera. Like I said I just hope it doesn't let me down.

I am also excited because Ricky, Trent's dad, is being inducted into the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame this weekend and maybe I can just be his own little personal photographer. lol. Well it will be my first big experience with it so hopefully I will get some great shots.

I am also super excited to be taking it on our cruise with us. Oh yeah, I haven't even blogged that yet. Me and Trent will be going on a cruise in May leaving on our Anniversary. We are going to Cozumel and Calica. We are so excited to be able to go especially since this could be the last big vacation for a year or so.

I reckon that is all for now just wanted to show off my new camera.
